Fayez Moussa is an alumnus of Malek Fahd Islamic School (2000) and was a founder of the Malek Fahd Alumni Association (MFIAA) serving on its committee for a number of years.

From 2004 to 2007 Fayez was a software engineer at Creative Computing. In 2007 he became a Senior Software Engineer with Empower IT Solutions and in 2012 became a Technical Team Lead with Empower CS.

Since 2015 Fayez has been the Principal Consultant with Empower CS. In this position he is the main customer facing contact for the organization, with responsibility for liaising with customers and leading the project team. This includes the analysis and design of solutions that meet customer needs, estimating and quoting on projects and tenders, and managing and delivering the projects within scope and budget.

Having commenced and completed a number computer courses, including software engineering, as part of a Bachelor of Computer Engineering/Master of Biomedical Engineering in 2001 and 2002, Fayez transferred to a Bachelor of Science majoring in Computer Science. In 2005 he graduated with a BSc (Hons Class 2 Division 1). In 2014 Fayez completed a Graduate Certificate of Technology in Business Systems in order to increase his knowledge in non-technical areas. He also has completed a number of specific technical qualifications and has expertise in a range of programming languages and database management tools.

Fayez’s experience as a principal consultant at Empower CS has developed his skills in identifying and analyzing problems in organisations across many industries. These skills enable him to select and implement processes and systems that enable an organization to face its challenges without the need to rely on particular individuals

Until his retirement in August 2009 Dr John Bennett was Chief Executive of the Office of the Board of Studies NSW. The Board of Studies was responsible for developing the Kindergarten to Year 12 curriculum taught in all NSW schools; conducting the Higher School Certificate (HSC) and School Certificate (SC) assessment and credentialing programs; and the registration and accreditation of non-government schools in NSW.

Prior to his appointment to this position in December 2002 he held senior positions at the Office of the Board of Studies, including Director of Information Services, Director of Information Technology and Manager of Assessment and Systems. In these positions he had responsibility for planning, managing and operating information and key measurement systems and services; overseeing the development examination papers; and development of advice and materials to support the Board’s assessment and examination programs.

Before joining the Statutory Boards Directorate in January 1986 (the fore-runner of the NSW Board of Studies) he was Head Teacher of Mathematics at Dover Heights High School. He was placed on the eligibility list to be promoted to Deputy Principal.

During his career John was actively involved in national forums, in particular in his capacity as the NSW Chief Executive member of the Australasian Curriculum, Assessment and Certification Authorities (ACACA). On the international scene he has provided advice and assistance to Government assessment and credentialing authorities in New Zealand, Scotland, Qatar, Brunei and Indonesia. He has presented papers at international conferences on assessment. He has undertaken a number of projects and reviews for interstate curriculum and assessment authorities, chiefly Queensland and South Australia.

John has been awarded the degrees of Bachelor of Mathematics and Bachelor of Educational Studies from the University of Newcastle and the degrees of Master of Education and Doctor of Philosophy from the University of New South Wales.

John’s PhD thesis is the basis of the standards-based approach to assessing and reporting student achievement in the NSW Higher School Certificate (HSC). He was the 2009 recipient of the Australian College of Educators Wyndham Medal for his ‘Outstanding contribution to the education of young people in NSW’. In 2011 he was made a Fellow of the Australian College of Educators (FACE).

In 2010 John was appointed to the position of Adjunct Professor in the School of Education at the University of New South Wales where he has delivered lectures to post-graduate students in curriculum and assessment theory and practice, and co-supervised higher degree research students. He is also a member of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences Advisory Committees.

John has been a member of the MFISL Board since April 2016 and Chair of the Board since June 2017.

With more than seventeen years of experience in financialservices industry, Mohammed is currently a Senior FinanceManager in AMP’s Finance Group function. In his current rolehe is the financial control owner of several corporate legalentities including AMP Limited, AMP Group Holdings and AMPFoundation. He is also a financial advisor to The Global MedicalFoundation Australia.

Mohammed spent 15 years working for AMP holding severalroles and responsibilities ranging from Financial Accounting,Compliance, Statutory and Regulatory, Risk Reporting andextensive experience in Financial Control. Mohammedsupported a wide range of AMP businesses including Group, Advice, Wealth, Property, Bank, Treasuryand the Charity arm of AMP, AMP Foundation. He also supported operations in multiple geographicaljurisdictions including US, UK, Luxembourg, China, Japan, Singapore, India, Hong Kong, Australia andNew Zealand. Prior to AMP Mohammed has worked in fund custody for State Street Australia and BNPParibas.

“Read” the first revealed Divine Command in Islam, Mohammed believes in importance of educationto our community’s vitality and the role MFIS has in creating an Islamic environment to nurture thedevelopment of well-rounded Australian Muslims.

Mohammed is a strong advocate of inclusion and equity to members of the community with additionalneeds.

Mohammed is a Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) with a Master of Commerce in ProfessionalAccounting from the University of New South Wales.

Have been involved in the Non-Government schools sector for over 30 years. Bursar at Ascham school for 10 years, 15 years at PLC Sydney and in the last 4 years have done consulting work for the Australian Marist Bros Schools, MLC Sydney, St Lucy’s College, Santa Sabina College and Marist Bros Canberra. Have had an involvement with Malek Fahd for over 7 years. Have been on the board for a couple of years. I am also a director at ISMC school and at Farmhouse Montessori School at Northern Head. I sit on the Finance and Property committees of these 3 schools.

Dr Deborah Price serves as the Research Degree Coordinator and Senior Lecturer in Inclusive Education and Wellbeing at the University of South Australia. Her esteemed work centers on inclusive education and wellbeing, advocating for capability and co-design approaches that celebrate diversity and uplift the voices of young people. Dr Price’s contributions have been recognised with numerous accolades, including the UniSA Award for Teaching Excellence and the UniSA Early Career Researcher Award.

Mr Faraz Amin Nomani is a highly driven and results-oriented professional with extensive expertise in strategy development, risk management, stakeholder communication, and project management. MrNomani has a proven track record of partnering with business leaders to identify and capitalise on value generating opportunities, manage risks comprehensively, and drive strategic initiatives across organisations.
